The Dream
The cathedral in Lausanne Switzerland is the finest gothic building in the country. For over 700 years it has been used to proclaim Gods message .Not only is the edifice full of history but it is not also easily accessible for preaching. First of all, it belongs to the Swiss reformed state church and pastors guard carefully who gets into the pulpit. Eliane and I lived in Lausanne for ten years and were members of that church.
One night I had a dream and i saw myself preaching in this prestigious cathedral. I woke up and thought how ridiculous this dream was. First of all I was unknown, and secondly I am not a licensed pastor of the Swiss state church. Finally, after all, the cathedral leadership is extremely choosy about who can preach there.
I put the dream aside and thought no more about it. Years went by. A full nine. But then one Sunday morning one of the pastors approached me and asked if I could preach one Sunday at that very place, the cathedral. I gasped. Now I remembered the dream .So, after all, this had been of the lord!
Weeks later I stood in the pulpit and preached. Fulfillment of what God had shown. This showed me that not all dreams are rubbish. Mind you, it to9ok almost ten years to come to fruition. But let us give God the time to bring it to pass. He clearly has a different time-table to ours.
Thank you God that I can trust you, to bring your plans and promises to pass.
